Ginpahayag ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año nga wala pa sang lista sang mga officers nga magabulos kay Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, nga magaretiro sa masunod nga bulan.
“I have not yet submitted my recommended list for the next chief PNP. I’ll submit the list on the last week of October,’’ pahayag ni Año sa isa ka interview.
Ginsiling pa ni Año nga ang mabulos kay Eleazar ang dapat may yara sang “seniority, merit kag service reputation.”
Gindayaw naman ni Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque si Eleazar bangud sa iya maayo nga performance kag ginalauman nga mangin chief PNP “for life.”
Nahibaluan nga malab-ot na ni Eleazar ang retirement age nga 56 sa mga uniformed men sa Nobyembre 13.
Ginsiling man ni Año nga ang extension ni Eleazar ang nakadepende sa desisyon sang Commander-in-Chief nga si President Duterte.
“It depends of course on the President. That is within his authority,’’ pahayag ni Año.
Si Eleazar ang ika 26 nga PNP Chief sa Pilipinas.
Siya man ang miyembro sang Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Hinirang” Class of 1987 kag nag-assumed sa iya post sadtong Mayo 2021 nga nagbulos kay retired general kag current Office of the President Undersecretary, Debold Sinas.
