“I am here in the United States for an official visit to the United Nations [in New York] for the UN International Law week,” suno kay Sec. Roque.
“I am one of the officials from the Office of the President and [delegation from the] Department of Foreign Affairs. My wife is with me, but on my account,” dugang pa sini nga pahayag.
Matandaan nga ginkuha ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte si Sec. Roque, nga mangin kabahin sang International Law Commission, isa ka United Nations body sang mga eksperto sa international law.
Si Roque, ang isa sa 11 ka nominado halin sa Asia Pacific Region, ang anay human rights lawyer, professor sa International Law sa UP College of Law antes pa man ini nangin tagpamababa ni Pangulong Duterte.
Base sa advisory nga ginpaguwa sang United Nations on the International Law Commission, magapili ang United Nations General Assembly sang 8 ka indibiduwal sa International Law Commission halin sa Asia Pacific Region.
Ang mga miyembro ang magaserbe sang lima ka tuig “and are eligible for reelection.”
Samtang, nagpatigayon naman sang kilos-protesta ang pila ka mga Pilipino sa New York City sa Amerika agud manawagan nga ibasura ang nominasyon ni Sec. Roque nga mangin miyembro sang International Law Commission (ILC).
