Gin-anunsyo sang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) nga nagdangat na sa kapin 10% sang mga SIM cards sa pungsod ang rehistrado na sa ila tagsa ka mga telecommunication companies (telcos).
Suno sa DICT, sandig sa datos halin sa National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), tubtub Enero 9, 2023, yara sa 16,150,926 ang kabilugan sang SIM cards nga narehistro sa pungsod.
Ini ang 9.6% sang kapin 170 milyon nga SIM cards nationwide.
Sa nasambit nga numero, pinakamadamo ang nakaparehistro sa Smart Communication Inc. nga yara sa 7.584 milyon; nagsunod ang Globe Telecom Inc. nga may yara sang 7.137 milyon kag DITO Telecommunity Corp. nga may yara naman sang 1.428 milyon.
Bangud diri, ginaganyat ni DICT Spokesperson Anna Mae Lamentillo ang tanan nga SIM subscribers nga magparehistro na agud makalikaw sa deactivation sang SIM card.
“We encourage all SIM subscribers who have not yet registered their SIMs to register already with their PTEs to ensure that their SIMs won’t be deactivated. We also remind everyone to register only through the official platforms provided by the PTEs public telecommunications entities (PTEs),” suno kay Lamentillo.*
